Holland America Line ships dock at Downtown Ketchikan berths. You'll be within walking distance of Creek Street, the Totem Heritage Center, and most major attractions. No shuttle needed for the core downtown area.
Most HAL itineraries arrive between 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM and depart between 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. This gives you 8-10 hours in port—ideal for combining a major excursion with downtown exploration.
Holland America guests tend to be more experienced cruisers who value cultural immersion. Ketchikan is perfectly suited to this, with its world-class Tlingit heritage and authentic frontier atmosphere.
HAL's EXC In-Depth program offers longer, more immersive experiences. In Ketchikan, look for the Saxman Village Cultural Experience or the Totem Pole Carving Demonstration—both go deeper than standard tours.
Because HAL docks downtown, independent tours are extremely low-risk. You can see your ship from most locations, and local operators often offer smaller group sizes and more flexible scheduling.
